Do's and Dont's

What everyone should bring:

You want to be prepared to be on your feet for hours at a time. You might be far from water or bathrooms. So you want to bring:

  • A daypack or something to keep things in.
  • Water. Lots of drinking water.
  • Sunblock.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Sun hat.
  • Cell phone (charge those batteries!).
  • Camcorder.
  • Comfortable footwear.
  • Umbrella or poncho if it looks like rain.
  • Snacks or snacks and lunch. Restaurants are some distance from where we'll be.

Marshals might want to bring:

  • A pad and pen.
  • A pocket map of D.C.
  • A bullhorn if you happen to have one.
  • A wristwatch.
  • The event schedule.
  • "Chant" sheet.

Medical Volunteers might want to bring:

  • What the Marshals are bringing.
  • Rubber gloves.
  • Your own medical supplies.

What nobody should bring.

The many security agencies in DC take their jobs very seriously. We don't want any weapons or anything that might be used as a weapon. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Firearms.
  • Knives worn ourside your clothing.
  • Sign-posts made out of wood or metal (use cardboard tubes instead).
  • Glass or metal containers. Plastic bottles only.
  • Beach umbrellas or shade tents (parasols are OK).
  • Alcohol.

Please help spread the word about this important information. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time.
